Hannah Grow (turning age 14 in July) from Morton, IL and Marissa Weber (age 12) from Lake Mills, WI have a goal to raise $10,000 for Susan G. Komen through paddling in a 340 mile canoe race called the MR 340. The race takes the girls on the Missouri River from Kansas City to St. Charles and must be completed in less than 88 hours. The girls have paddled on many occasions with their dads starting as early as age 7. This entry, however, will make them the youngest to enter and hopefully the youngest finishers. They have been training together since March with the help of their sponsors RP Lumber, Kruger Canoes, & Kialoa Paddles. The girls have received advice and training from race front runners and record holders Mark Przedwojewski and West Hanson. The race begins August 4th, 2009 at 8am. You can follow along or help the girls reach their goal of $10,000 by checking out our blogspots : http://theadventuresofsuperboo.blogspot.com and http://teamkrugerrplumber.blogspot.com
