Hub Ballroom fire

Early Wednesday morning, the Hub Ballroom burned to the ground leaving only smoldering remnants of what was a grand ballroom in its day.

This is so sad. I remember my grandparents talking about going there to dance to big bands. And my parents going there to dance in the 60's. I remember going in the 80's to hear great local bands. The Hub was a living piece of history.

70 years of history. So sad it's gone. It stayed hoppin thru all the changes in music and dancing. Firemans Balls, weddings, reunions, benefits, the Hub was the place to be. Thanks for the memories old friend.

I grew up just outside of Edelstein and remember travling and having people from other states ask if that is were the Hub ballroom is... I am so proud to say that I have spent time square dancing, going to weddings or seeing big bands preform

Although I am now 32, I remember spending the night at my Grandpa and Grandma Abel's and falling asleep to the music being played at the Hub. My Grandparents live right next to the Hub, That place was jumpin!! I will keep a good memory of that place.

my class from PCHS was the 1st to have the P'ville prom outside the school and we had it at the Hub. So sad. Lots of benefits, Fireman's balls, and wedding receptions there.

The class of '73 hosted my senior prom at the Hub. My class of '72 also had our 10th year reunion there. All will be missed and remembered. I can be reached @ facebook.
