Life's a beach on the Outer Banks

The McLouth family vacationed this summer on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We skirted Tropical Storm Cristobal and had a blast on miles of beaches. The Outer Banks is a string of islands located off the coast of North Carolina in the Atlantic Ocean. There is one two lane highway that stretches the entire length of the main island, Hatteras. Travel to the other islands is by ferry or personal boat.
