It looks like it's game over for the Peoria Pirates, at least for now.
The arena football team is folding according to the executive assistant head coach.

This summer News 25 reported on the team's effort to get a new owner, but Tony Johnson says the deal has fallen through.
Owners had been meeting with potential investors to try to save the franchise. Johnson says majority owner Doug MacGregor pulled the plug on the Pirates Sunday night.

This may not be the final down for indoor football in the River City, however. There is some speculation that the team could come back as part of the IFL, the league taht includes the Bloomington Extreme.
