The Lexington Minutemen open the playoffs Friday Night against Conference Rival Fisher. Lexington Running back TJ Stinde is making a name for himself nationally.

Like most players TJ Stinde set personal goals before the season began.

Lexington Sr. Running Back T.J. Stinde said, "I mean I wanted to put up big numbers but I didn't think anything like this. I was hoping 2,000 yards total this season. I've already reached that goal and I'm going for a lot more now."

Stinde's 2,094 yards puts him fourth in country in rushing according to Maxpreps.com.
The website also lists him second in scoring with 37 touchdowns.

Stinde said, "I want to be one of the best in the area. And now I'm coming up as one of the best in the state statistically and across the nation. It's amazing."

Lexington football coach Mike Castleman said, "He's a kid who's very strong, very fast, has good feet. He can change direction without really slowing down and he's a rare find that's for sure."

TJ is quick to share the credit for his success with the offensive linemen.

Stinde said, "They work hard in the weight room and they work great as a unit together and make some holes."

Lexington Sr. Lineman Steve Kolat said, "Blocking for him is amazing, he's got every ability to make every play."

NFL players have been known to take their offensive lines out for fancy dinners, or buy them expensive gifts. But a senior in High School can't do that, so TJ does what he can.

Stinde said, "They've definitely mentioned the steak dinner to me."

Kolat said, "He's been watching over us. He bought hair dye so he takes care of us."

Stinde said, "We go out for pizzas on Thursday night so last week I bought pizza for all the guys because there doing a fantastic job."
