Seth Schwindenhammer just finished his senior year at Limestone High. The 17 year old has big plans for his future--big league plans! Today, Schwindenhammer was drafted in the 5th round of the Major League Baseball draft by the Boston Red Sox.

"It's awesome....I'm speechless," said Seth moments after his selection. "I thought I was going to go in around the 7th round...so it was really exciting."

Red Sox scouts had watched Schwindenammer play for Limestone this spring. So, he thought there was a good chance he would picked by the Red Sox. "They had me take bp (batting practice) after a game and I had been in contact with them."

Schwindenhammer watched the draft with family and friends at the Bartonville American Legion Hall. He expects to begin contract talks with the Red Sox later this week.
