Notre Dame's Becky Stoughton made history at the State Swim Meet in Winnetka over the weekend.
It's the first Swimming State Championship for a girl from the Peoria area.

Becky Stoughton's quest for a state championship began a year ago.
After failing to qualify for the finals her sophomore year Stoughton set out to win a state title her Junior year.
Stoughton swam an extra 80,000 yards over the last 3 months. That's more than 45 miles. That was hard on her body and her mind.
Stoughton went on to win 2 state titles but she has another goal for senior year, a state record.
