The national figure skating championships are underway at Carver Arena. Fans will quickly notice there's no ice at Carver Arena. This figure skating championship is for roller skaters!
"It's just like ice skating, the same terms for moves and dances are used," says USA Roller Sports judge Judy Graves. The difference is the skaters are using four wheels instead of a blade.
The competition continues all this week and next. Roller skating hopes to be a Olympic sport in the near future. In the meantime, several of Team USA's current ice skating olympians got their start roller skating.
