In the 80's Scott Leech's sport was cycling. He was an alternate for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. Today he's coaching his daughters but they're not on bicycles.
14 year old Molly Leech said, "People always ask what is speed skating. They start to think ice because it's in the Olympics but I guess it's just like roller skating with different skates and you go a lot faster."
Hailey is a 6 time national champion, who trains 2 to 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. That's a lot of time with dad for a teenager.
16 year old Hailey Leech said, "Most of the time we spend together is floor skating it's a good way to keep family involved. It can get a little rough at times but he's always there for me."
Inline speed skating is being considered by the International Olympic Committee as a sport for 2016 Olympics. Those games could be in Chicago just a short drive from the Leech's home.
Scott Leech said, "When I first talked to her about it, her first reaction was I want to go somewhere. I don't want to take the train in. It would be an incredible opportunity; I mean that is a once in a lifetime thing."
