A former Canton youth Pastor was convicted Thursday of criminal sexual assault.

The Fulton County jury found 36-year-old Jason Phillips guilty after deliberating less than four hours.

Phillips, a former Covenant Community Fellowship Church youth pastor, was found guilty of having sexual contact with a 15 year old girl, a member of his church.

Phillips was arrested in May of last year, after the girl came forward to authorities.

A date for sentencing has not been set.
