Bloomington mayoral candidate Tari Renner is throwing in the towel. Renner, who lost the April 7th election to incumbent Steve Stockton by just 15 votes, today conceded the race.

Some of Renner's supporters were pressing for a recount, but Renner said he did the research and he wasn't convinced it would change the outcome.

"this process would not change the final outcome," Renner told News 25. "As a result I have decided not to pursue either a partial recount or a full recount of the election. It may be by the closest margin in our city's history, but Steve Stockton has won this election."

Renner estimated that a recount would cost about $20,000 - money he thinks he could come up with. Instead, he'll continue to serves as a member of the McLean County Board.

Steve Stockton will be sworn in on Friday for his second term as Bloomington's mayor.
