Governor Quinn Raises Campaign Funds

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn says he's raised about a quarter-million dollars in campaign funds for a run for the Governorship in 2010.

Quinn disclosed the figure in an interview with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch editorial board.

He says he sees ``no reason not to'' run for the office he took over from ousted former Gov. Rod Blagojevich in January.

Quinn could get a primary challenge next year from Attorney General Lisa Madigan.

A recent poll in Chicago put Madigan ahead of Quinn among prospective Democratic voters.

Madigan is ahead of Quinn in fund-raising as well...with three and a half million dollars in campaign funds in January.
