LaHood says Rahm Emanuel "Terrific Choice"

Congressman Ray LaHood called Rahm Emanuel a "solid choice" for White House Chief-of-staff.

Congressman Emanuel (D-IL) announced today that he would serve as Chief of Staff to the President-elect.

LaHood said in a statement, "I could think of no one better to serve as President-elect Barack Obama's Chief of Staff than Rahm Emanuel. The position requires someone who is in sync with the philosophy, principles, and values of the President, and Rahm certainly fits the bill. At the same time, the Chief of Staff must act as the President's gatekeeper, as well as someone who can challenge the President. Rahm also fits the bill in those areas.

LaHood also said that Emanuel was a "leader who works across the aisle to get things done".

Isn't this the same Rahm Emanuel who once sent a dead fish to a pollster who angered him? Emanuel is not bipartisan. He was known as "The Enforcer" in the Clinton White House. He's like a character on "The Sopranos". Wake up!

" Well said, Curtis! "

These are reassuring words from Congressman LaHood, considering other ranking Republican Congressmen have condemned the choice. Hopefully, this will be the end of partisan bickering. Our nation, at this very moment, can no longer afford the politics of division. May Congressman LaHood impart this wisdom to the Congressman-elect Aaron Schock. Bi-partisanship and unity are so absolutely necessary!
