Dozens of Special Education Directors are in Peoria for a major conference and the featured speaker is *big* draw.
Matt Roloff, the star of TLC's "Little People, Big World" talked to attendees about challenges facing people with special needs.
The annual Special Education Directors' Conference is sponsored by the Illinois State Board of Education. Organizers say while there are still challenges, new technology is helping break down barriers.
"I think a lot of things have been overcome and in today's technology world and data driven assests we have and how admistrators can have information at their fingertips, can look at the data and move forward and make informed decisions from that data," said David Andell.
The conference features numerous workshops and presentations that relate to methods and best practices in the special education field.
