In these tough economic times, many people are familiar with the term 'stay-cation.'

One local group is working to show you how easy it is to have one right here in Central Illinois.

Sunday the 'I'm Stepping Up' campaign held its second 'Pack the Place' event.

This one was held at Wildlife Prairie Park.

The first took place at a Peoria Chiefs baseball game at O'Brien Field in May.

Organizers say the purpose of these events is to get people out of the economic slump, and into Peoria.

"People, they change their habits. They stop going out to things. They stop doing as many things, and we want to remind them of the fun events and the fun things that we have here in the region they may have forgotten, get people out again, stimulate the economy, have some fun and remind people what we have to offer here in town," said Renee Charles of the Heartland Partnership.

Organizers say they spread the word about 'Pack the Place' events by giving tickets to local businesses.

Anyone who brought their ticket Sunday received a t-shirt, which got them free lunch and discounts throughout the park.
