The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announces that, weather permitting, construction will move into its final stage on IL 8 (Washington St.) from east of Sunrise Ave. to west of Summit Dr. in East Peoria on Monday, August 2nd.
Traffic traveling eastbound to Washington will move to a lane adjacent to the south curb line.
Traffic traveling westbound to East Peoria will remain in their current position adjacent to the north curb line.
Separating traffic will allow for construction of the center medians.
Access will be maintained to all properties, but right-turn only access will be in place at most driveways with left-turns available at the side roads.
This road project, consisting of reconstruction of the existing concrete pavement, new sidewalks and new driveways, is expected to be completed by the end of August.
Landscaping of the project is expected to be completed by November.
