The Shoppes at Grand Prairie looked like an amusement park on Saturday. The mall hosted the 4th annual Peoria Kids Day to benefit the Crittenton Center.
Hundreds of kids came for the face-painting, the dunk tank and lots of other fun and games. And for older kids at heart there was a silent auction and a raffle.
"We actually have a dual purpose," said Denis Jacobus of the Crittenton Center. "We always want to get the word out and let people understand who Crittenton is, the crisis nursery. 6 weeks to 6 years old, 72 hours we'll keep kids, any type of crisis they have. We want the word out there but its also to raise money because funds are down from the great state of Illinois this year, so we need all the help we can get."
About 20 individuals and businesses sponsored this year's Kids Day to help the Crittenton Center reach its goal to raise $25,000.
