Earlier today, the 2nd annual Tee It Up for the Troops Kick-Off Breakfast was held at Mount Hawley Country Club.
The event jump starts the Annual Charity Golf Classic that raises money in support of local military and their families.
The event celebrates our American heroes while enjoying a great day with family, friends and supporters.
Last year's event raised more than 196-thousand dollars in its first year.
This year, the goal is a quarter of a million dollars.
Chairman Dr. Frank Benningfield says, "for a guy to come off of this course to this event in order to support some of our military personnel, is the greatest feeling and benefit that he can do for himself."
This year's golf outing will mark the largest golf event in its nature in the state of Illinois.
It is scheduled for Monday, August 30th at Mount Hawley Country Club and Weaver Ridge Golf Club.
