Local runners are preparing for the 2010 Steamboat Classic.

Organizers announced some changes and additions to the Steamboat experience on Tuesday.

There will be a new youth training program for young runners and runners with special needs are also welcome to train and participate.

And due to construction, there will be a new finish line this year. Race Director Philip Lockwood says, "When we come down Hamilton Blvd. to the finish line, we'll be turning left and running towards the bridge and finishing essentially under the bridge as opposed to the traditional finish heading south behind the Caterpillar parking deck."

Officials say the change is permanent and allows more space for celebration.

There is a chance that the 15K runners will also take a jog through the Peoria Zoo during their run.
