Tuesday's winter weather interrupted a 17-year-long tradition that takes place annually before the Bradley- ISU basketball game.
For the first time, Bradley Sigma Nu fraternity members were unable to make their annual Normal to Peoria basketball dribble. The event raises money for the Children's Hospital of Illinois but was canceled due to the snow covered interstate.
Fraternity members delivered the check to the hospital by car instead.
This annual tradition has attracted some of sigma nu's youngest members.
"This is what brought me to this house. I'm from Peoria. Seeing this on the news every year, I was like, this is something I want to do. I think we came through," said Michael Williams, a Sigma Nu member. "It is disappointing we didn't get to do the run, but I still think getting the money here for the kids, it's nothing better."
The Bradley fraternity raised 12 thousand dollars for the Children's Hospital of Illinois this year.
Following a brief ceremony, the members were taken on a tour of the facility.
