3 ways to reduce childhood obesity

Tools

By WEEK Producer

It sounds like a pretty simple solution to childhood obesity: eat with your kids. The study said it didn't even matter what the families were eating. Eating together is somehow connected to lower obesity levels in kids. Not watching a lot of television and getting enough sleep (10 hours) each night are also ways you can prevent obesity in kids. Obviously eating healthy and getting enough exercise are the biggest factors. Take a look at the study by clicking on RELATED CONTENT and let us know what you think.

I'd like to see a report on how many of these kids are medicated, and the meds are the cause for obesity. This is always been in the news. It never goes out of the news. Anti-depressants, steroids for asthma, birth control for teens. HELLO???

I'll add fourth to that list, don't hid them in the house. Kids will naturally run and play if given the opportunity. 24/7 news has modern parent convinced the world wants their child. Truth is 99% of the population wouldn't have your child if presented as a gift. 90%of child molesters are known to the child and they encounter them in a what most parents consider a safe setting.

My son gets around 10 hours of sleep a night. Only gets caffeine on extremely rare occasions. Does not eat or drink sugar after a certain point in the night. And gets tons of exercise with his friends everyday. Yet he still gets to watch TV and play his video games. Everything not excluding anything in life comes down to moderation. With this knowledge my son is one of the healthiest kids in his school. So, yeah it's the parents fault. Kids need structure, consistency and discipline, without these we get lazy, disrespectful lumps of children.

A big part of children being over weight is the parents fault! they lets the kids eat whatever they want then its off to watch tv or play video games. yes my son playes video games but he also very active. make ur kids get out there and do something instead of letting them sit on there butts all day!
