Things are calm at the Pizza Hut on Prospect Road around noon on Super Bowl Sunday, but it won't stay that way for long.
"It is a huge, huge night," said Manager Denise Adams. "It is big on deliveries, usually people start ordering around pre-game and it will last all night."
Adams has been doing this for 13 years. She says the key to succeeding on Super Bowl Sunday is people.
"We are very well staffed, 25 employees, 12 drivers, 4 cooks, all my management team is here," she said.
Adams will need the help. She is expecting a 30 percent increase in business.
"We are looking at about 5,000 pizzas that will go out for the whole region and 7,000 wings," said Adams.
On the other side of town, Super Saver Liquors says it sees three times its usual business on Super Bowl Sunday.
"Oh yeah, it is good for business today. We order extra beer, extra keg beer and a lot of them are reserved," said Jim Abdallah, the store's owner.
He says he will likely sell around 600 cases of beer and dozens of kegs Sunday.
Customer Rodney Ivory says even though money may be tight right now, celebrating the Super Bowl is a must.
"We always get together, cook some mean grub and the friends come over to play cards," said Ivory. "We have a good time, listen to music and drink some Budweiser."
Ivory, like many, will enjoy the big the game, boosting the local economy while he's at it.
