Students at a Pekin elementary school learned more about a country that's half-a-world away.

For the past two years, Pekin alum Tiffany Nelsons has worked through the Peace Corps to teach English to Chinese students. Today, Tiffany has decided to bring her world to her hometown and show local students her life in China. The principle at L.E. Starke Elementary says she's an inspiration that Pekin students can go anywhere and that, "an idea that they can do whatever they want to. As long as they work hard- that even though China seems to be a very long ways away from Pekin, Illinois- If you set your goals high enough, you can really reach that."

During her presentation, Tiffany showed students photos of her class and home. Pekin pupils also learned some Chinese.

The Chinese are people. Unfortunately they do not understand about liberty or freedoms. They are dependent upon their government to provide for them. While they are hard working and industrious they may never know what freedom really means. They are now driven by communist/capitalsm.
