Peoria businessman Al Zuccarini finally gets a new home for Big AL'S strip club.

Zuccarini is building a new facility here where this parking lots sits next to the Madison Theater in downtown Peoria.

He has also also teamed up with promoter Jay Goldberg to bring concerts to the stage here inside the old Madison Theater.

Peoria businessman Al Zuccarini says, "Being next to the Madison Theater that's an honor in itself to be next to a building of that stature and memory and I'm hoping that it'll blend right in."

Zuccarini closed five of his businesses downtown to make room for a new Marriott Hotel that will transform the Pere Marquett Hotel on Main Street.

Developer Garry Matthews says with more than 400 rooms and a boardwalk connecting the hotel to the Peoria Civic Center it will be a major draw for the city.

Developer Garry Matthews says, "We're gonna be competitive but that's good for the market, also good for a lot of larger conventions and conferences. We think we're gonna qualify for a lot of conventions."

Zuccarini hopes to capture some of that tourist crowd with his expanded businesses.

He says the new building will also include Las Vegas type entertainment and could seat up to 600 people.

Zuccarini says the hotel project and a revived Madison Theater will bring vitality to downtown.

Peoria businessman Al Zuccarini says, "It couldn't have come at a better time for everybody to lift the spirits, put some jobs in the line and progress it's time."

Zuccarini hopes to begin construction on his new building in February.

Developer Gary Matthews says work inside the Pere Marquette will start after the first of the year...and the new Marriott should start going up in the summer.

WHy ? The Pere Is a dump ! Face the facts. Yes I know money has been spent to try and bring in what patrons wanted . It's an old building that has NEVER been kept up the way it should have been . Current owners are to blame for that . Its falling a part .. out dated and insect infected.. TIME TO MEET IT"S MAKER .... I think Al & Gary need to really build a entirely new hotel .... putting more money into a dump like the Pere is just a waste and you' ll see that in the end ....
