The District 150 School Board Monday night heard the recommendation for new boundary lines for former Woodruff High School Students.

Here, verbatim, is the statement from District 150 Spokeswoman Stacey Shangraw:

The recommendation is that students on the north side of Lake Avenue, from Sheridan Road to the Peoria Heights School District, will attend Richwoods High School starting with the 2010-11 school year.

The students in the section of the Woodruff High School area which is bordered by Abington Street to south of Glen Oak Avenue to Hightower will attend Manual High School starting with the 2010-11 school year.

The remaining students in the Woodruff High School attendance boundary will attend Peoria High School starting with the 2010-11 school year.

Notifications of the placements of the students will be corresponded to the Woodruff High School parents and students prior to the January registration process.

It is the expectation that the eighth grade students will register at their assigned schools during the process in late January.

Counselors from the receiving high schools will go to Woodruff High School and register the upperclassmen in conjunction with the Woodruff High School counselors during the middle of February.
