One Peoria couple that has developed a sweet reputation for doing business is asking the public for help.

The Cookie Shack owners, Lee and Brenda Ware, say –selling– cookies is only part of the job.
They also teach baking classes and talk to young people about how to start their own business.
The Wares want to buy the building where their business is located... So they're asking the public for donations.

"We been here nine years and feel as though we should have something stable. We don't want to move, we don't want to leave the East Bluff because we have so much invested here on the East Bluff," said Cookie Shack Co-owner Brenda Ware.

"They are more than just retailers but they're parents to the community. They really do look out for a lot of kids. I've been here when the school has dismissed and many of the kids from the school across the street would just flock over here," said customer Charles Keeton.

Ware says The Cookie Shack will match each donation with a gift certificate of the same amount.
If you want to make a donation, call the bakery at 6–8–2–81–71.

If it's that easy to get money count me in. I'll watch the little kiddies cross the street and then talk to them and then say I'm good for the community. So you all just reach in those deep pockets of yours and pull all that money then send to me so I can buy a new building and I'LL even say THANK YOU
