Decorating for Dax Grows

Area Tributes for Local St. Jude Patient

By WEEK Producer

The outpouring of support for a local St. Jude patient is growing.

Little Dax Locke is only two years old, but he faces a big battle with leukemia.

We've told you about the Decorate for Dax campaign. All around his hometown of Washington and beyond; people are putting up holiday lights early so that he can enjoy them.

Now Christmas tree displays are popping up for Dax, and that's inspired a local woman and her grandchild to make an ornament for the boy.

Evelyn Eades said, "I know he's little and doesn't understand, but I know his folks will and I think that will help them to know that people are behind them and trying to support him, too."

Dax was back in the Children's Hospital for a time Thursday night, but then returned home. If his parents looked out his hospital window across the highway they would've seen Methodist Medical Center's holiday lights are now on, too, in honor of Dax.
