Bradley University on Lockdown During Police Pursuit

Bradley University placed the campus on lockdown overnight as city police searched for two robbery suspects.

Peoria Police responded to an armed robbery around 12:30 a.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie in Peoria.

An employee was robbed of his wallet and cell phone and another was injured with a stun gun.

The police were in pursuit of the suspect when they found that the suspect's car stuck a fence at the entrance of St. James and University Streets.

The car's passenger, 22–year–old Nicholas J Humes, was transported to OSF St. Frances medical center.

The driver ran from the scene.

BU police sent out a text message to students about 2:40 this morning warning them to stay inside as officers looked for the suspects.
Bradley sent out an "all–clear" text about an hour later after Peoria police concluded the suspects were no longer near campus.

A spokesperson says it was business as usual for students in class today.

get a foid card and use the limited conceal carry now in IL. We're going to have to protect ourselves since the police can't get places in time. Had an incident 2 weeks ago, where a neighbors ex was trying to break into her home, I called the police 3 TIMES and she called once before they finally got there and cuffed and stuffed him. That's why my foid card is on the way and handgun is coming very soon by December. Going to have to protect myself when the need arrises as long as they're a threat

Looks like the perfect time to have 33 police positions cut (17 via layoff, 16 by not filling retirement). Good work city council. Kudos to PPD for spotting the car. Wait until a council member needs the police in a timely manner.
