Lights of Dax

By WEEK Producer

Many of these early decorations are for two year old Dax.

The Saint Jude Patient may never be able to see them again.

Julie and Austin Locke say that their son has an extremely rare form of leukemia and is expected to only survive for another five to seven weeks.

Dax is no longer able to walk because of his condition, but enjoys "dancing" to Dora the Explorer songs.

His parents say that they're just trying to enjoying their time together during the holiday season.

"There's just new ones going up constantly just from my caring branch-the people-word of mouth-why do you have Christmas lights up so early? You know, it just keeps passing. Everybody wants to help and that's a great way for them to help-we have plenty of meals and gifts and this means a lot to us."

Even though its early November, Dax and his parents view lights every evening.

My heart fell when I heard about this. I have called East Peoria and left a message for Dan Cunningham to call me back. I am going to ask if they can set up the lights in E.P. (festivle lights) for him to see. I encourage everyone to contact them. The lights are being stored in a warehouse...they need to set the up...in his neighborhood or somewhere for him to see. All kids love the lights and he should get to see them!
