Knox County Health Department will hold several H1N1 vaccination clinics this Saturday, November 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon throughout the County.
The vaccine will be available free of charge, and parents are reminded that they must accompany children under age 18.
“A total of five H1N1 vaccine clinics will be held on Saturday simultaneously throughout the County,” reports Wil Hayes, Director of Health Protection for the Knox County Health Department. “One clinic will be held in each of the five school districts, thus providing the greatest amount of access for all County residents; Galesburg’s will be held at the Health Department.”

The community should be aware that both the H1N1 FluMist and injectable vaccines will be available at these clinics. However, individuals eligible to receive the FluMist will not be offered the injectable vaccine until initial demands are met. At this time the Health Department is charged with prioritizing distribution of the injectable vaccine and reserving its use for those high-risk individuals who are not eligible to receive the FluMist vaccine.
