It's tough enough finding a job today. Now, try doing it with a disability. But, a seminar Wednesday in Peoria hopes to highlight the abilities of people with disabilities.

Peoria Production Shop has employed workers with disabilities for 68 years. Workers package products for companies like Caterpillar.

And, the director of human resources says her workers are also good for the business's bottom line.

"People say aren't they more difficult to deal with, don't you have more problems, aren't they absent more?" says Pamela Creager, of the Peoria Production Shop. "All the list of worries employers have, but the fact is it's not true."

"Businesses that hire people with disabilities also get people who are very innovative," says Karen McCulloh, Disabilityworks Executive Director. "We've had to figure out how to make it in our life, how to do old things new ways."

One out of five Americans are now classified with having a disability.
Today's free seminar was put on by Disabilityworks.

It's a statewide organization that helps businesses accommodate workers with disabilities.
