Some Twin Cities high school music students have gotten a special invitation to the White House.

Accompanied by chaperones they gathered at the Central Illinois Regional Airport this morning for their flight to the nation's capital.
They are among 120 selected to participate in the White House Music Series.
The students will attend workshops by four renowned classical music artists and attend a concert.

"I'm a little bit nervous about the plane ride but I think it's gonna be a lot of fun once we get down there. I'm excited to see the White House and to see Washington D–C. It's just going to be a good experience," said University High School junior Ryan Cavallo.

The students are Pratt Music scholarship recipients and are enrolled in the Illinois Wesleyan University Preparatory Music Program.
Two weeks ago when residents heard about their invitation they immediately began writing checks for airfare and hotel expenses for all 12 students.
