Fatal Crash Kills Chillicothe Man

A Chillicothe man has died after his pickup truck left the roadway and crashed into a tree. The Peoria County Coroner says 22-year-old Steven T. Donath died in the one vehicle crash early Saturday Morning. The coroner reports he had multiple injuries and an autospy is scheduled for Monday.

Authorities report Donath with his wife as the passenger, were driving north on 2nd Street in Rome when his vehicle left the roadway around 2:15 Saturday morning. He was reportedly not wearing a safety belt.

Steven Donath died at three Saturday afternoon at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. The passenger's injuries are not considered life threatening.

more like people need to drive sensible. if it is always about safety then why don't motorcycle riders have to wear helmets. i see motorcycle riders all the time not wearing helmets and their 8 yr kid is on the bike with them ALSO not wearing a helmet. this is pure BS to me. But they want to keep writing tickets for the click it or ticket campaign. BS make a no helmet law Illinois
