James Field Rededication Ceremony

Tools

By Manda Barger

A mass of people gathered in Pekin today to rededicate a historical landmark for many.

Generations of Pekin residents have played on James Field at the intersection of Court, Broadway, and 8th Street. And this morning, they celebrated the field being refurbished. The field has been a staple in the Pekin community since 1916.

The group of people was also trying to break a national record... of the most people simultaneously blowing bubbles! Bubble solution and wands were provided.

I went to the rededication and it was wonderful. It looks so nice now. Congratulations to all that helped make it happen.
