Trick or Treat for Habitat for Humanity

By WEEK Producer

Soon the trick or treaters will be out in full force. But around the Bloomington Normal Area, not everyone knocking on your door will be looking for candy.

One of the most successful chapters of Habitat for Humanity, Illinois State and Illinois Wesleyan will go door to door raising money during the sixth annual Trick–or–Treat for Change event this Halloween.

Recently the McLean County Habitat for Humanity workers broke ground for two homes it's preparing to build. More than 600 ISU and IWU students are expected to work on the project.

The students will be trick–or treating from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. and all the money they collect will go toward their first LEED certified homes.

LEED homes follow criteria established by the U.S. Green Building Council making them extremely energy efficient.

The ISU and IWU Habitat for Humanity chapter's goal is to raise 60–thsouand dollars this year.
