For those who think fall is the most beautiful time of the year in Central Illinois... these next two weekends might be the highlight of the season.

The 42nd annual Spoon River Valley Scenic Drive starts tomorrow. Vendors in Farmington spent this afternoon braving the rain, getting set up for the 4-day event.

More than 20 towns in Fulton County participate in the Spoon River Drive. In London Mills, there will be a Civil War reenactment.

It is this Saturday and Sunday and then October 10th and 11-th.

I wish people who come to crowded events would leave their pets at home. No matter how cute they are, there are too many times, I've almost stepped on a dog's foot and came close to being between dogs trying to attach each other. Yesterday, I saw a huge mastiff dog at London Mills lunging at another dog and the person holding the dog could barely hold on. I'm always concerned that an injured dog will bite someone no matter how cute or tame the owners think they are.
