An insight into the local economy and its future comes to Central Illinois starting tomorrow.
The Heartland Partnership is about to post its' conversation with Caterpillar CEO Jim Owens and US Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood on its new website.
The program: "The Insider's View-Our Road to Recovery" was taped three weeks ago.
In the program... LaHood predicts that a year from now... the economy will turn around but not before unemployment numbers decrease even more.
"We've learned some very hard lessons in the housing industry and the automobile manufacturing industry, in the international trade portion of our economy. And those hard lessons I think will lead us into a greater prosperity and out of this recession early next year," says LaHood.
