A number of major arteries in Peoria will be blocked. Here's the analysis for this week's Construction Brake.
Watch out on War Memorial. Crews are working in 3 locations in Peoria... New this week will be the rip up and replacement of War Drive between Adams to Prospect. They're doing similar work between Brandywine and Knoxville. Then, two ramps are closed at the Knoxville intersection.
Those traveling eastbound on War Memorial cannot go southbound or towards downtown on Knoxville. Also, those traveling north on Knoxville cannot go westbound or towards University on War Drive. This work will last through November.
Speaking of Knoxville... Drivers should expect slow-going between Pioneer Parkway and Lindbergh as those lanes get resurfaced. Work should be complete in October.
Also in Peoria... A lane will be lost this week for northbound drivers on University between Russell and Armstrong. And, Jefferson will be closed this week between Greenlawn and Western for sewer repairs.
Other work around the area...
Students and staff at I-C-C will still want to give themselves an extra few minutes as crews finish up the work at the school's entrance off Route 24.
Meanwhile, drivers in the Dunlap area will notice lane closures on Illinois 91 from Alta to Legion Road until the end of September.
And, Illinois Route 41 will close this week in Galesburg at the railroad crossing for reconstruction.
