Community Helps Bartonville House Fire Family

Tools

By Tierney Modglin

Last week we told you about a Bartonville family that lost everything in a house fire.

Now the community is coming together to help them out.

The Bartonville Christian Church is collecting donations for the Kneekalb family.

The family of eight includes a husband and wife, five children and a grandmother.

Their home on Smithville Road was consumed by fire last Thursday evening.

The flames destroyed their home and its contents.

Bartonville Christian Church Senior Minister Kevin Dell says, "We are taking donations from the community...clothes, dishes...anything that they would need for their house we're currently holding here at the church in a trailer."

The Bartonville Christian Church Minister says the Kneekalb's found another home to rent Wednesday with some help from the Red Cross.

But they still need things like a stove and a refrigerator.

If you would like to make a monetary donation, a fund is set up at Bartonville Bank.

After reading and hearing about another fire with this family, I am so disillusioned and sad that they know how to "work" the system taking advantage of kind generous people . I gave also. If WMBD report is true, you should be ashamed of yourself

Since when did this article matter weather the people work or not? It is about a family with children who have lost their home and everything in it. Please help this family if you are able to; I know it's tough for everyone right now.

It's so wonderful to see a community come together to help those in need, especially in this difficult economic situation, in which some of us find it hard to spare anything.

I know they have at least a 3 year old who wears size 2T. We have given some clothes but we were not sure if they needed Diapers or Pull-Ups. Please help this family if you can. Thanks goodness no one was hurt.
