Even more local roads will be littered with orange barrels. Here are the details in this week's Construction Brake.
We'll start with the mess near the McClugage Bridge. The ramps closed over the weekend will be open Monday morning. But, expect lane closures this week as crews inspect the bridge.
In Morton on Monday, crews will be painting the I-155 bridge over Illinois 98. Expect lane reductions on 98 through September 15th.
Construction on Camp Street in East Peoria has started. The new roadway between Main and Allison Street should be complete in November. Camp will actually close between Main and Washington Street near 74 next Saturday. And, it won't reopen until Monday, August 24th. Follow the detours.
In Peoria County, a couple notes for those who travel Route 78. The Elmore Road Bridge is closed in Brimfield Township. And, work on 78 in Laura near the Railroad viaduct has started. Expect lane closures and short delays through the end of September.
And, there's nothing normal about getting around Uptown Normal these days. Adding to the construction congestion will be nearly 67-hundred students coming to the Illinois State University campus on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Watch for weird traffic shifts to accommodate the move-in.
