The Saint Jude telethon is one weekend away and that means volunteers are getting creative with their fundraising efforts.

At area Kroger stores, volunteers are selling root beer floats between now and early August. The floats are sold in exchange for customer donations. Kroger will match the first five thousand dollars collected.

"It's a fun event it'll be at all the Kroger stores it's a nice thing for the kids. It's also a nice thing for the adults to come enjoy a root beer float and learn a little about St. Jude," said Kevin Paulter, a St. Jude Midwest Affiliate Board of Director's President.

Pepsi-Cola is supporting the fund-raising campaign. The Saint Jude Telethon will air on Sat., Aug. 1st on WEEK, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
