One year into the implementation of a program to curb drinking by students at Bradley the school's president is reporting success.

Dr. Joanne Glasser says the number of alcohol–related tickets issued to students during the last school year were significantly lower...
and the incidents in which students had to be taken a hospital emergency room because of alcohol were cut in half.

"The number of alcohol related tickets issued to our students declined by 25–percent from the previous year," Glasser said. "The average blood–alcohol level of those ticketed dropped by 35–percent."

Students who violate Bradley's Comprehensive Alcohol Action Plan can be fined and suspended.

The reduction in drinking on campus is in no small way tied to the existence of the Markin Center. It's become a social gathering place. And its where the program's innovative "Late Night BU" events are held each month. Students can play board games, there's been ice skating and even a petting zoo. And there's always free food.
