IDOT begins its busiest stretch of repairing roads.
Numerous major arteries around Peoria will be clogged with construction barrels starting this week.
The work on War Memorial has started with lane reductions near Willow Knolls and Prospect in Peoria and Illinois 116 in East Peoria.
The lane reductions will last until November to complete this entire project.
Staying in Tazewell County and those taking Illinois 29 in Pekin should expect lane reductions from Illinois 98 to Route 9 through September.
If you plan to cross the river on 4-74 expect lane reductions until Route 6 in Peoria County through September.
And, if you take the Cedar Street Bridge expect a lane reduction for inspections until July 24th.
Also in Peoria, work begins Monday on Illinois 40 from Cedar Hills Drive to Illinois 90.
There will be one lane of traffic with flaggers through at least mid-August.
Also, beware of the road work on Berkeley in front of OSF St. Francis Medical Center in downtown Peoria.
And, the redevelopment of East Peoria 2010 site on the old Caterpillar factories means trucks will be leaving West Washington Street on a frequent basis.
So drivers should expect delays.
And Illinois 251 is now down a lane for roadwork between Route 17 and 18 along the Marshall, LaSalle County line through mid September.
