State Senator Dan Rutherford from Chenoa is expected to announce tomorrow that he's running for state treasurer in 2010.

This will be the republican's second attempt at statewide office.
He lost as the GOP candidate in 2006 for Secretary of State to Jesse White.

Rutherford posted his intentions on both his Facebook and Twitter page this weekend saying quote-"Game On".

Current Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, a democrat, is considering a run for President Barack Obama's former U-S Senate Seat that's currently held by Roland Burris.

Burris announced Friday that he won't run to hold the seat in 2010.
