Ford Rolls In New Model

Ford Motor Company made a stop in East Peoria today as part of its 100 city tour introducing the new 2010 Taurus. It's all part of an effort to boost sales in what has become a lackluster market for new cars.

The Taurus was once one of the top selling sedans in the country.
In the past couple of years, Ford focused its efforts on other lines.
Now, the company is ready to reintroduce the name plate car that was so popular in the 90's.

"Over the years at one time it was America's best selling car in the country and so over the years customers demand had shifted a lot had gone to SUV's and at the time you know we had taken a look away from our car line up and so as we as gas prices has increased we wanted to reinvest in our car line up that's when we really got behind Taurus and brought it back," said Marisa Bradley, Taurus Community Manager.

Visitors to the Uftring Auto Mall had a chance to test drive the vehicle today. The new Taurus will hit the showroom in August and it'll set you back at least $25,000.

I like the new Taurus, and was going to buy a Toyota but Ford has done such a great job not taking bailout money I just have to support this company.

This car looks more like the Mustang than a Camry. I think it looks sharp but not as leading edge as some of the past Taurus models were in their time. Plus we should support the only U.S. company to not go bankrupt.

it looks like everything else on the road in its class. B-O-R-I-N-G. the mustang is a hit because amoung other things it looks unique. if ford wants a bite of toyotas market share, they shouldnt try to make the taurus look like a camry.
