Peoria Teachers File Strike Notice

By Tom McIntyre

Peoria School District 150's teachers have issued a 10 day notice of their intent to strike. Their contract with District 150 expired Tuesday.

A statement from the Peoria Federation of Teachers said there were no plans for a strike, but that a notice was a legal step should teachers decide to strike.

PFT President Bob Darling said in the statement that while the union recognizes District150's financial situation, there are non-financial issues which remain unresolved.
