The small community of Henry is honoring its' veterans as we approach July 4th.

Tuesday, volunteers with the American Legion and Boy Scouts started putting out flags in Stoner Park.
Each flag has a name attached to it, honoring a veteran with some connection to Henry.
The names go back to the Revolutionary War and go up until the present.

"When they come and see their family and neighbors and people that defended our great nation, and fought for our freedoms, they are really stunned," said volunteer Bill Greek.

There are more than 680 flags on display on the Veterans Walk.
The patriotic half–mile path of flags will be on display through July 5th.
It is free and open to the public.
