Two local businesses were recognized with Governor's Export Awards today for their outstanding success in international trade.

The awards honor businesses that have contributed significantly to the Illinois economy through the exporting industry.

Ag–World Inc. of Bloomington and Enviro–Safe Inc. of Pekin help the state lead the Midwest in exports.

Warren Ribley of the Illinois Department of Commerce says that "2008 was a record year for Illinois exports, Illinois businesses exported more than 53.4 billion dollars in goods and services."

Ag–World Inc. is a purebread livestock exporter that provides genetically sound swine, cattle and horses to countries all over the world.

Enviro–Safe Inc. is an economically friendly company that manufactures coolants for homes and vehicles locally in Pekin, and then exports the coolants internationally.
