This summer many people are staying closer to home and taking in free or less expensive events.

One place with a lot to offer is in Bishop Hill.

And in our Postcard from Home, Bob Jacobs shows its also a refuge for artists.

Saturday, June 27th, the Midsommar Music Festival returns to Bishop Hill. It's a free all day event beginning at 11 a.m. with music in the park. There is also an old fashion barn dance beginning at 7 p.m.
