Peoria Pro-life Rally

By Ashley McNamee

Just one day after the funeral of a Wichita abortion doctor some Peorians held a demonstration to celebrate life. In Kansas over the weekend hundreds of people turned out to remember George Tiller, who's clinic performed third trimester abortions. His controversial job ultimately cost him his life last week when a pro-life activist allegedly shot the doctor in his church.

Sunday in Peoria, a pro–life rally was hosted by a group of Bradley University students who wanted the event to show how peaceful a demonstration can be. "At first I was concerned just about the timing, but after I thought about it I realized this makes it even more important to get out there and show this is the pro life cause, not any violence or negativity," said freshman Alexandria Reynolds.
We attempted to contact pro–choice groups around the area, but were unable to reach any for comment.

Isn't killing this Dr,also away of abortion?Although I am pro-choice,I believe by killing this Dr.Proves one point, those who are pro-life are hypocrits.I believe that women shouldn't not be allowed to use abortion,as a way of birth control,as well as for malious reasons.

A woman should be able to make Her own decision when it comes to an abortion. Who cares what other people think, their opinions do not matter.

Murder is murder, either way. But yes this movement has nothing to do with the DR, the advertisement started four months ago now.

I guess ignorance will never stop in America! There are very good reasons for these types of abortions like a women having to carry a dead fetus for delivery for weeks. I think if you want to judge have all the facts before you speak hatred for someone who also saved many women's lives!

What do you mean by "so-called abortion clinics?"

Amazing-news oulet whose style sheet has always insisted on calling the pro-life movement "anti-abortion" sees fit to label an anti-government kook a "pro-life activist." And so local news goes out of the way to link peaceful and courageous efforts of a group of young college students to the actions of a goofball who committed a cowardly crime in some other state. This event was in planning for 3 months. To imply that it was just a reaction Dr Tiller's murder is misleading - intentional or not!

I thing third trimester abortions are messed up. That doctor murdered so many babys alive in a womens wombs and I am glad he's dead. They need to close all of those so-called abortion clinics down. This country is very messed up for allowing that and I am not even a Christian.
